Last updated: September 2026

These Terms of Service explain how Daily Helper provides practical help, support and companionship in your home and how our bookings work.

We want Daily Helper to be simple, friendly and flexible. These terms are here to make sure that both you and us understand what we have agreed to and what you can expect from our service.

By booking Daily Helper, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Our services may include:

  • Decluttering, tidying and organising

  • Household chores and light cleaning

  • Other reasonable everyday tasks agreed in advance

We will always discuss the task with you before starting if we are unsure about what is required.

2. Services we do not provide

Daily Helper is a practical home-help service and is not a care, nursing, medical or personal-care provider.

Unless specifically agreed and appropriately qualified, we do not provide:

  • Personal care such as bathing, toileting or administering medication

  • Medical or nursing services

  • Financial advice

  • Legal advice

  • Professional trades or specialist building work

  • Electrical, gas or plumbing work

  • Work requiring specialist qualifications or equipment

  • Heavy lifting or tasks that we reasonably consider unsafe

  • Removal or disposal of hazardous materials

  • Work involving asbestos, chemicals or dangerous substances

We reserve the right to decline any task where we believe it is unsafe, unsuitable or outside the services we provide.

3. Our commitment to you

We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill and will treat you, your home and your belongings with respect.

We will make reasonable efforts to arrive at the agreed time. Occasionally circumstances outside our control may cause delays, and we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible if this happens.

We will treat information you provide to us with appropriate confidentiality and will only use it for legitimate purposes connected with providing our service.

4. Your responsibilities

To help us provide the service safely, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate information about the work you would like us to undertake.

  • Tell us about anything in your home that may present a safety risk.

  • Provide reasonable access to your home at the agreed time.

  • Provide any information or instructions we need to complete an agreed task.

  • Ensure that equipment you ask us to use is safe and suitable.

  • Let us know about any pets or other animals at the property.

  • Tell us about any circumstances that could affect our ability to carry out the work safely.

You remain responsible for making decisions about your possessions, including what should be kept, donated, sold or disposed of.

Where we are helping you declutter or organise, we will not intentionally dispose of anything without your agreement.

5. Bookings

Bookings are subject to availability.

A booking is confirmed when we have agreed the date, time and approximate duration of the work.

For some tasks, we may need to discuss the job with you before confirming that we can undertake it.

We may ask for additional information or photographs before agreeing to undertake certain jobs.

6. Rates and payment

Our standard rate is £25 per hour.

We currently offer:

Half Day: 3.5 hours – £100

Whole Day: 7 hours – £175

Prices may change from time to time, but the price agreed with you for a confirmed booking will not normally change unless the scope of the work changes and we agree this with you beforehand.

For first-time customers and one-off bookings, payment may be required in advance.

For regular customers, we may invoice after the work has been completed. Unless otherwise agreed, invoices should be paid within 5 working days.

Any third-party costs incurred on your behalf, such as parking, postage, delivery charges, entrance fees or agreed disposal costs, will normally be payable by you. We will discuss these with you where reasonably possible before they are incurred.

7. Additional time or work

We will normally work for the amount of time agreed when you make your booking.

If you ask us to continue working beyond the agreed time, additional time will be charged at our standard hourly rate unless another price has been agreed.

Where a task takes longer than expected, we will try to discuss this with you before continuing where reasonably practicable.

8. Cancellation and changing a booking

We understand that plans change.

If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible.

We will always try to accommodate changes where we can.

Where a booking is cancelled at short notice, we reserve the right to charge a reasonable cancellation fee where we have been unable to offer the time to another customer.

Any cancellation charge will reflect the circumstances and the amount of notice provided and will not be intended to be punitive.

If you have paid in advance and cancel a booking, any refund will be considered in accordance with these terms and your statutory consumer rights.

Where a booking is made online, by telephone or away from our business premises, additional consumer cancellation rights may apply. Where applicable, these will take precedence over these Terms of Service.

9. If we need to cancel

We may occasionally need to cancel or rearrange a booking because of illness, an emergency, severe weather, unsafe conditions or another circumstance outside our reasonable control.

If we need to cancel, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you as soon as possible and rearrange the appointment.

If you have already paid for a service that we are unable to provide, we will refund the relevant amount where appropriate.

10. Access to your home

You may provide us with a key, access code or other means of entering your property.

If you provide us with a key, we will take reasonable care of it and will not make copies without your permission.

You should tell us if there are any specific instructions about locking doors, setting alarms or securing the property when we leave.

If you ask us to retain a key for future visits, you do so with the understanding that we will take reasonable care of it.

We recommend that keys are not labelled with your full name and address.

11. Valuables and personal possessions

Please tell us if there are valuable, fragile or particularly important items in the area where we are working.

We will take reasonable care when handling your possessions, but you remain responsible for making us aware of items that require special care.

When helping with decluttering, sorting, selling or donating possessions, we will follow your instructions as closely as reasonably possible.

We will not knowingly take ownership of, sell, donate or dispose of your belongings without your permission.

12. Online services, shopping and administration

We may help you with online shopping, appointment bookings, websites, apps, emails and other everyday online tasks.

Where we assist you with an online purchase or booking, you remain responsible for the decision to make the purchase or booking.

We will not knowingly make financial commitments on your behalf without your permission.

We will not ask you to give us passwords where this can reasonably be avoided.

If you choose to provide us with login details or other sensitive information so that we can complete a task for you, you remain responsible for ensuring that you are comfortable doing so.

We will never knowingly request or retain payment-card details unnecessarily.

13. Money and purchases

If you ask us to purchase something on your behalf, we may require payment in advance.

We will provide receipts where available.

We will not normally use your bank card or payment card unless this has been specifically agreed and is appropriate for the task.

Where cash is provided to us for a specific purchase or errand, we will return the appropriate change and/or receipt.

We are not responsible for the quality, availability or suitability of goods or services supplied by third parties.

14. Pets

We are happy to help with reasonable pet-related tasks where agreed in advance.

However, we are not veterinary professionals, animal behaviourists or professional pet carers.

You must tell us about any animals at the property and any known risks or behavioural issues.

We may decline to handle an animal if we believe doing so could present a risk to us, the animal or another person.

15. Safety

Your safety and our safety are extremely important.

We may stop or refuse a task if we reasonably believe that it presents a significant risk of injury, damage or harm.

This could include situations involving:

  • Unsafe structures

  • Dangerous equipment

  • Excessive lifting

  • Hazardous substances

  • Aggressive animals

  • Significant pest infestations

  • Unsafe electrical equipment

  • Severe clutter preventing safe movement

  • Unsanitary conditions

  • Other hazards that were not disclosed to us before the booking

Where possible, we will explain the reason and discuss whether there is a safer alternative.

16. Damage or loss

We take reasonable care when working in your home and with your possessions.

If you believe that we have caused damage to your property or belongings, please let us know as soon as reasonably possible so that we can investigate the matter.

Nothing in these Terms of Service excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your statutory consumer rights.

Where appropriate, our liability will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law and our insurance arrangements.

17. Insurance

Daily Helper is fully insured for the services that we provide within the scope of our business.

Our insurance does not mean that every type of task or loss is automatically covered. We will not knowingly undertake work that falls outside the scope of our insurance.

18. Confidentiality and privacy

We understand that allowing someone into your home can feel personal.

We will treat information about you, your home, family, possessions and circumstances respectfully and confidentially.

We will only collect, use and retain personal information where there is a legitimate reason to do so, such as arranging bookings, communicating with you, providing our services, processing payments or meeting legal obligations.

Please see our Privacy Policy for more information about how we handle personal information.

19. Respectful behaviour

We want Daily Helper to be a positive experience for everyone.

We will always treat customers respectfully and expect the same in return.

We reserve the right to end a visit or decline future bookings if we experience threatening, abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour.

We will also take reasonable steps to ensure that our team can work in a safe environment.

20. Complaints

If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please tell us as soon as possible.

We would much rather have the opportunity to put something right than have you remain unhappy.

You can contact us at:

Email: info@dailyhelper.co.uk
Telephone: 07932 508008

We will acknowledge your complaint and aim to resolve it fairly and promptly.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to our services, prices or legal requirements.

The version applicable to your booking will normally be the version in force when the booking is confirmed.

We will not use a change to these terms to remove or reduce rights that you have already acquired under a confirmed booking.

22. Your statutory rights

Nothing in these Terms of Service affects your legal rights as a consumer.

Where we provide a service to you as a consumer, the service must be provided with reasonable care and skill and you retain the rights provided to you by applicable consumer law.

If any provision of these terms conflicts with your statutory rights, your statutory rights will take precedence.

23. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Any dispute will be dealt with in accordance with applicable UK law and the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
